Le "paroline"
My students are always complaining they have problems with PAROLIN Italian. With little words means both prepositions and pronouns, and all those words that change the meaning of a sentence.
One of the little words MAYBE is more complicated, because it can be used in very different ways:
1) make a wish (used alone)
Ex is your the villa with a swimming pool? - Well, maybe!
2) would be nice if (always imperfect subjunctive)
Ex I wish it were true!
3) although at the cost of (always imperfect subjunctive)
Ex I'll go to Italy, maybe I should go there on foot!
4) maybe, probably
Ex Maybe arrive later.
5) also, even, even
Ex You maybe able to say that he is right.
